Cleanliness March on Republic Day

On the crisp winter morning of India’s 66th Republic Day, exhilaration and enthusiasm was in the air as we organized Cleanliness March where more than 4000 members of GLS Family including students and staff participated.

Since my nomination as one of the nine ambassadors for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan by Hon’ble Ex. Chief Minister Smt. Anandiben Patel, a plethora of activities have been undertaken. For building momentum of the mission, a specialized digital cell has been created under the guidance of Dr. Hitesh Ruparel, Director General, GLS University. The social media platform includes Facebook and Twitter where a dedicated community has been created for Swachh Bharat Abhiyan. Both of these platforms have been utilized efficiently to encourage volunteers and showcase their effective contribution in the mission. Smt. Anandiben Patel, Ex. Chief Minister of Gujarat has praised the efforts and contribution of GLS on these social media.

The Cleanliness March was a part of such on-going activities at GLS. The March commenced from Income-Tax cross roads with immense excitement. The footpaths at the cross roads were lined with students and staff members holding specially-made posters with slogans on the Swachta theme.
